Long post is loooonnnnng (now with too many photos!)

This whole "keep up a blog" thing went even worse than I planned. My life is generally so dull it's not worth writing about.

Yeah, been busy, been busy. There's not really many days off around these parts to wallow in my own self pity/lack of self worth etc, so it's generally good. I was stressing at my dad when my parents came to visit about how much stuff I had to do with the course and then with netball and god knows what else and he made a very good point: I'd be bored without it. I remember him making the comment around A Levels as well, and it's true, I do sorta work better when I have pressure put on me and have little time and little sleep. I guess that's pretty fortunate!

I'm really missing a few things, though. I'd fucking kill to see a mountain around about now. Just one mountain. With snow on. And deer at the foot of it. Not that I'm picky or anything...

Shameless insert of my photo to break up the text.

Ah, Scotland, how I miss thee. I'll be up there in about a month though so that's something to look forward to. I might be able to crack out my camera too! I really miss taking photos, and my flickr is seriously lacking updates. I went on a huge updating spree in the summer and uploaded loads and there hasn't been a single one since. Hopefully when Adam comes down here I can take my camera and get photos of the Christmas lights, even though I'm 99% certain the motor in poor Scarlett has died and I'm down to only manual focussing, which isn't a big deal because I mainly used that anyway but quick shots are pretty much out unless they're on my macro or telephoto.

At least it's getting quite cold now. It was still vest top weather until like a fortnight ago, it's ridiculous. Gimme scarves and gloves and coats and jumpers and winter weather.

PROPER CLOTHES! Oatmeal covered thigh-high socks, motherfuckers.
Home in a couple of weeks, but not before I go and see Adam! And he comes to see me! In the space of two weeks, what were we thinking?! I was at Newport last weekend which was lovely and it was fun because I actually did something on a weekend that wasn't work related! (Though I am going out tonight too, so maybe I'm getting better at this). Bit of a hassle getting home though because I am an idiot of epic proportions and booked the 6am megabus instead of the 6pm megabus, so I had to leg it to the train station. I literally had time to buy the ticket, run upstairs, wait for maybe a minute of two then hop on the train. Talk about good timing! Alice, bless her heart, accompanied me despite the fact it was cold and dark and it was my stupidity so she really needn't have!

It was a stressful start to the week, really. The above megabus fiasco happened on Sunday, then on Monday night I managed to get my debit card eaten by the ATM at Sainsbury's, which promptly made me freak out and cry in front of the shop while people watched me, amused. Had a lovely little stress about how my money decided to fall out of my purse too, the bastards.

The Enemy.
I distinctly remember yelling "oh for fucks sake!", flinging my purse at the ground and letting out what can only be described as a battle cry against my new nemesis, and then regretting it because I was on the phone to my father at the time. It wasn't even a decent battle cry.

Expectations:
Reality:

Some positivity did come out of the event though! My netball coach had been telling people to go jogging and, my god, I have never run so fast or so consistently than I do when I know I have £40 worth of shopping sat on the end of a checkout waiting for me to come back to it with a different card.

It's weird thinking it's so close to Christmas. I'm weirdly excited about it this year. I think the prospect of going home and eating Christmas dinner and hugging my cat while watching Hogfather with a hot chocolate is overwhelmingly brilliant. I've started to decorate already, and I have no shame in that. I say decorate, I have fairy lights up which will remain there forever now to replicate the ones I have at home, and I have a little bit of tinsel up. And to be honest I'm so lazy there is a high chance that I won't bother taking that down either. I have a couple of Disney Christmas figurines to put out and my mum's bringing another in a couple of weeks so I'll be all festive and that.
I've started writing out Christmas cards too, though it's nowhere near as fun as last year with my handmade crap.

I'M NO CHRISTMAS TREE. I'm a Christmas Ent.
I wonder if it'll snow as much this year. I doubt I'll end up with an icicle of doom here, sadly. Bah, London.

Have a Japanese Macaque, just for funsies.
